Empire at Fairfax (1001 N Fairfax Ave)

This 5-story mixed-use building on a corner site in West Hollywood contains 35 units and a south-facing courtyard over a ground floor having street-facing retail with parking behind it. The project was designed as a series of articulated volumes that wrap the corner and bring the scale down from that of it main ‘avenue’ facade to the lower scale of its side street. A roof terrace with spa has broad views of the basin and hills, and above the residential entrance a stained-glass art piece runs up 4 stories of the main facade.
